On Sunday, Kerala reported 5,254 new Covid-19 cases. In a press statement by Health Minister KK Shailaja, the state has collected 48,015 in the last 24 hours. Currently, Kerala has 65,856 active Covid-19 cases.
Out of 5,254 cases, 4,445 persons were infected through contact, 94persons infected came from outside the state. However, the source of infection for 662 cases is still unknown.
Kerala also reported 6,227 recoveries, taking the recovery toll to 4,94,664. However, the National Institute of Virology in Alappuzha confirmed that there were 27 casualties, taking the state’s death toll to 2,049. The test positivity rate of Kerala is 10.94%.
