Idukki girl's murder: Suspected culprit Arun’s body found hanging

The body of the suspected culprit in the Idukki girl's murder was found hanging near Pallivasal Power House in Idukki. Arun, the suspected culprit's body was found about a kilometer away from where the victim's body was recovered. The owner of the land noticed the hanging body and alerted the police today morning.

On Friday, 17-year-old Reshma was found dead near the Pallivasal Power House. The family had lodged a complaint with the police when the girl did not return home after school. Later, the girl's body was found. She was stabbed in the chest. Though she was taken to the hospital, the doctors declared her brought dead.

The police recovered CCTV visuals that showed a relative of hers, Arun, with her at around 4.45 in the evening of the incident. Also, the autorickshaw men near the area informed the police that a relative was present along with the girl.

On Sunday, the police had found the confessional note of Arun. The police recovered the 10-page-letter from the rented house where Arun, the suspected culprit was staying. According to the police, Arun wrote this letter to his friends.

According to the letter, Arun and Reshma were in a relationship for years and she started to avoid him when she fell in love with another. In the letter, he further states that he will kill Reshma and after the murder, no one will see him. However, according to investigators, Arun's plan was to commit suicide after murdering Reshma.
