Kerala CM trying to pull another SNC-Lavalin scam: Chennithala

In a press conference earlier today, Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala said that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is trying to put blame on a civil servant and escaping from his responsibilities towards people of Kerala. Chennithala also wondered whether the government or the party is emitting more stink in this deal.

“When the SNC-Lavalin scam happened, Vijayan did the same thing. As the then Minister of Electricity, he blamed officers for all his misdeeds. Same tactics are now being adopted in the Sivasankar case also,” said Chennithala.

However, the CM says that all these misdeeds are done by Sivasankar in his own capacity and, hence, the government is not morally or legally responsibly for his deeds.

“With the help of previous Principal Secretary Sivasankar, Swapna was able to smuggle gold 21 times. This means that the CM’s office was aiding in these activities,” alleges Chennithala.

Chennithala asked is the Chief Minister not accountable for misusing power of his office which is equivalent to anti-national activities. It is clear that Vijayan is morally and legally involved in this issue. Chennithala alleged that there is no doubt that Vijayan is the first accused in the gold smuggling case and related cases.

“The CM argues that the charges levelled by the opposition lacks any documentary evidence. But all the present allegations were raised with proper documentary evidence,” Chennithala said.
