Delhi’s Tihar Jail authorities have found a mobile phone and a sim card from which a Telegram account was created that claimed responsibility for placing explosives in an SUV near Mukesh Ambani’s house in Mumbai.

According to reports, during a raid, the Delhi Police found the mobile phone inside sub-jail number 8 that houses many terrorists, including Indian Mujahideen terrorist Tehseen Akhtar, making him a strong suspect. Akhtar is arrested in the 2014 Patna serial blasts and is linked to the Hyderabad and Bodh Gaya blasts. Reportedly, the police are likely to question Akhtar regarding the matter.

Earlier, a senior Mumbai police officer had informed news agencies that the Telegram channel through which Jaish-ul-Hind had claimed responsibility for placing the green Scorpio filled with gelatin sticks near Ambani’s house in Mumbai, was created in Tihar, Delhi. Though

According to reports, cyber experts found that the Telegram account was created on February 26, a day before the message claiming responsibility for the incident was posted. The message also demanded payment in the form of cryptocurrency. However, Jaish-ul-Hind posted another message later denying the organization’s role in the incident.

On February 25, a green Scorpio containing gelatin sticks was parked near Ambani’s residence, Antilia, located on Carmichael Road in Mumbai. The SUV was possessed by auto parts dealer Manuskh Hiren. The police informed that the SUV was stolen from Airoli-Mulund Bridge on February 18.

Soon after, Hiren was missing and, his body was found in a creek at Thane in Mumbai merely hours later. Before his death, Hiren wrote to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Home Minister Deshmukh regarding the harassment he faced from the police and the media. Hiren said that though he is a victim, he was treated as an accused since the vehicle found outside Ambani’s house belonged to him.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) are investigating Hiren’s death, while the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will probe the SUV packed with explosives parked near Ambani’s house.
