Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan clarified the confusion about India's Metro Man E Sreedharan, who recently joined BJP being projected as party's CM candidate in Kerala, that so far the party had not taken any decision on this matter.

On Thursday, while addressing a gathering during Vijay Yatra, BJP state president K Surendran had said that if Sreedharan is made the CM of the state, then it can help to change the face of the state. He even announced that BJP nominates E Sreedharan as the CM candidate.

While interacting with a media organisation, Muraleedharan said that he had discussed the matter with the party president and he said that he hasn't made any such announcement and was only referring to certain issues in Kerala. Muraleedharan further added, "So, it should not be considered as an announcement and I am clarifying it."

It is surprising that earlier Muraleedharan had said that India's Metro Man would become Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, today BJP state president K Surendran explained that he hadn't announced E Sreedharan as the CM candidate, but people and the party wanted Sreedharan's leadership. He further clarified that Kerala wants Sreedharan and it is the Centre that decides on the Chief Ministerial candidate. On the other hand, reportedly, K Surendran's clarification comes as central leadership expressed dissatisfaction with the announcement of E Sreedharan as the Chief Ministerial candidate. However, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor took a dig after Muraleedharan clarified the confusion.
