Police have collected CCTV footage in the area next to Mansoor's murder site for further investigation. The footage shows some people taking over phone just before the incident. The officials are investigating to find whether this was a premeditated conspiracy.

Mansoor, the IUML activist was murdered during a clash between UDF and LDF activists on April 6, the election day. The investigation in connection with the murder case was in full swing, including the search for the absconding culprits behind the murder. The fourth accused Sreerag, seventh accused Ashwant and Aneesh, whose name is missing in the accused list, is reportedly in police custody. The officials are also investigating the death of Ratheesh, who is the second accused.

The post mortem report of Ratheesh's body points to suspicion as internal organs are damaged even before the body is found hanging from a tree. Earlier, leader K Sudhakaran and many others had alleged that there was suspicion over the death of Ratheesh. The UDF alleged that the suicide of Ratheesh was mysterious and he was killed and hanged aiming to destroy the evidence.

Padmini, Ratheesh's mother, claimed that the second accused Ratheesh's death was due to the depression of being accused in a fake case. Following Ratheesh's death, Padmini had registered a case with the City Police Commissioner seeking action against those responsible for her son's death.

According to the complaint, Ratheesh had faced an attack from the League activists on the day of the incident. On the other hand, CPI(M) claims that Ratheesh's death was a suicide and that the injuries found on the internal organs during the examination were due to clashes on election day.

Meanwhile, KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran demands proper investigation into the mysterious death related to political murder cases in which CPM workers are involved. He said, "The death of accused in Manssor's murder is mysterious. I have already stated that. Details of Ratheesh's post-mortem should be disclosed. " He further added that the unnatural deaths of the murder case accused who are CPM activists are not just isolated incidents.
