After hours of counting, based on the leads currently in, Mamata Banerjee has managed to defend her government and appears to be heading towards a third term with her party’s Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.
As per the latest trends, TMC has taken a massive lead and the ruling party is way ahead of the BJP in Bengal. TMC is currently leading in 205 seats, while the BJP is leading in 85 seats at 2 PM.
In Tamil Nadu, votes seem to be favouring DMK, whilst in Kerala, the Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala looks like it is set to script a history by retaining power in the state.
In Assam, the BJP seems to be set to have a second term with the party’s alliance already leading in 59 of the 120 seats. The saffron party had scripted history by winning the traditionally Congress-dominated state in 2016, after remaining on the fringes.
Puducherry seems to have voted for a new government led by the BJP as the NDA is ahead of the SDA by leading on 9 seats.
