Prime Minister Narendra Modi will most likely get vaccinated in the second phase of the vaccination drive as will all the Chief Ministers. Also, according to reports, those above 50 years of age will get the vaccine shot during the second phase.
The pan-India vaccine drive was launched by the Prime Minister on January 16. Nearly 3 crore people including health workers and frontline workers will be vaccinated in the first phase. During the launch, the Prime Minister urged people to ‘not make the mistake of ignoring the second vaccine dose.’ In India, two vaccines - Covishield and Covaxin - have been approved for distribution.
According to reports, the Chief Ministers of Haryana, Bihar and Odisha had said that MPs, MLAs and other representatives should be considered as frontline workers and be vaccinated. It is rumored therefore that all MPs and MLAs above the age of 50 will be vaccinated during the second phase. While addressing Chief Ministers before the start of the drive, the Prime Minister said that they will be vaccinated in the second phase.
