Sunny Leone returns to Kerala to start work for her upcoming Mollywood movie, Shero. Directed by Sreejith Vijayan, the film is a psychological thriller with Sunny in the lead. Shero will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindu.

"I am elated to be back to Kerala to shoot for the first schedule of the film. I love this place and it serves as the perfect backdrop for the film," said Sunny, who was in Kerala recently, to shoot for the reality TV show MTV Splitsvilla. She visited God’s own country along with her husband, Daniel Weber and their three children.

While interacting with the media, Sunny revealed that she has been taking language lessons and has been faithfully studying psychological thrillers that have become cult classics such as Fatal Attraction, Psycho and The Silence of the Lambs.

Although the actress has appeared in Malayalam movies such as Mammootty’s 2019 film Madhuraraja, this is the first time she will be playing the lead role in a Malayalam movie. The teaser video, which was recently released shows a woman who appears to be wounded, as well as visuals of a child seated on staircase. The dark colours and ominous music in the video sets the tone for the film.

Says Sunny, “I am thrilled to be a part of ‘Shero’. This is a character which is very different from the ones I have played earlier. I have been preparing to slip under the skin of the character for the past few weeks. It is a very layered and interesting part.” Shero is bankrolled by Ansari Nextel and Kannan Ravikiran under the banner of Ikigai movies.

Sunny was last seen in Devang Dholakia’s directorial venture Bullets. Apart from Shero, Sunny will also be seen in Anamika.

Meanwhile, Sunny and her husband completed 10 years of marriage on April 9. To mark their anniversary, Daniel gifted his wife a diamond necklace which Sunny flaunted in a social media post. Sunny Leone shared a video of herself showing off her diamond necklace and thanked her husband, calling it ‘truly a dream’. She wrote, “Thank you so much @dirrty99 for showering me with diamonds for our anniversary. Truly a dream!! 10yrs of marriage and 13yrs of spending our lives together!! Who would ever have ever imagined that one conversation about a promise of an amazing life together, we would be where we are today! Love you (sic)!”

Sunny and Daniel marked Valentine’s Day with a difference this year as they decided to refresh their wedding vows on the day. In a video shared by Sunny on Instagram, the couple exchanged varmalas during their stay at Poovar Island Resort.

She wrote: "An amazing Valentine's. We have been through so much together and this last year a tough one but through it all you still are the man of my dreams come true and I am so lucky you are a part of my life. You are a great man, partner, husband, and father! Happy Valentine’s Day baby!"
